Total Vocal at Carnegie Hall

Sunday, March 29th, 2020
  • Total Vocal is a contemporary a capella concert, performed at Carnegie Hall and hosted by Deke Sharon, the man heralded as “The Father of Contemporary A Cappella”.  My Pop Choir is entering its third year as participants.
  • What makes this so extraordinary is that most members who join My Pop Choir don't consider themselves professional singers and often join our regular sessions nervous and timid.  The idea of performing in a professional grade, difficult to sing, but very high quality concert would seem almost unbelievable to many.  And yet, we have now been offered to participate in Total Vocal for 3 years in a row and each time implanted ourselves as an integral part of the performance.   It is a testament to the dedication, skill growth, and hard earned confidence of our members.
  • Watch here to see us performing in 2018's Total Vocal at the Lincoln Centre. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv5l9st6xyg
(If you see a bright green scarf that's one of us!)

Unfortunately, due to Carnegie Hall's strict "no videotaping" policy, we have no videos of our performance this past March.  However, we were able to record some video's of our rehearsal.  Check it out!
